The plant is a compact shrub 20–30 cm in height and 18–45 cm in width. The leaves are dark green, scale-like in shape, and arranged in a decussate pattern on the shoots.
The variety has purple bell-shaped flowers. The plant requires planting in acidic, peaty, well-drained soil and good lighting.
Used in landscape design for creating compositions, as well as for growing in containers and pots.
