The plant is a low-growing evergreen shrub with dark green needle-like foliage. Three years after planting, the bush reaches a height of 20–40 cm and a width of about 25 cm.
The buds have a bright purple-red color with a bluish tint. Flowering begins in mid-August and continues until November, as the buds do not open fully.
The variety is winter-hardy, withstanding temperatures down to -23°...-29°C. It prefers well-drained acidic soils and a sunny location. It is used in landscape design for borders, rock gardens, and container gardening.
