The variety belongs to the species Capsicum annuum L. The plant forms a compact bush 45 to 90 cm tall; for the tallest specimens, staking is recommended. The fruits have an elongated, often curved shape resembling cayenne pepper, but differ in the complete absence of heat and the presence of rather thick flesh.
During the ripening process, the color of the peppers changes sequentially from light green or ivory through an orange shade to deep red. The fruits are versatile in culinary use: they are used for fresh consumption, frying, stuffing, freezing, and canning.
