The Insidina variety, also known as Marron d'Evisa, is an indigenous variety from the island of Corsica. The fruits of this variety are of the marron type, have a medium size, and are valued for their high taste qualities, which allows them to be used fresh, for the production of chestnut flour, and for glazed chestnuts.
The plant belongs to the medium-late maturity group. The variety is intended for cultivation at altitudes from 400 to 900 meters above sea level and exhibits compatibility with the Marsol rootstock. Insidina is one of the three dominant varieties in its region of cultivation.
