The variety was selected from a local Hungarian chestnut population. Trees of this variety are characterized by vigorous growth and a spreading crown; fruits ripen in mid-October. The variety is considered self-fertile, but cross-pollination contributes to obtaining a more abundant harvest. The crop is preferably grown in mountainous regions.
The fruits are of medium size with a volume of about 9.8 cm³ and a maximum diameter of about 36.7 mm. One cupule contains an average of 1.6 fruits. The yellowish-brown skin of medium thickness is easy to peel; the fruit flesh has a sweet taste. During cultivation, it is necessary to consider protection against biotic factors due to the lack of data on high resistance to specific chestnut diseases.
