The variety is autochthonous and originates from the Valle Pesio in the province of Cuneo. The tree is characterized by longevity and can be cultivated at altitudes up to 1000 meters above sea level. The plant prefers deep, light, well-drained soils with an acidic or slightly acidic reaction.

The fruits have an ellipsoid shape and brown skin with streaking. The flesh is firm, sweet, and aromatic, making them suitable for consumption fresh, roasted, or boiled. The variety is characterized as extremely hardy and possesses high disease resistance.
