Variety description

10 August 2026

The tree is distinguished by vigorous growth and can reach a height of up to 20 meters. It is considered a healthy and productive variety, which, due to its size and ornamental qualities, is often used in the landscaping of parks and large gardens.

The fruits ripen in October, have a prickly husk, and are characterized by their large size and mealy taste. To increase the productivity of the trees, cross-pollination is required; therefore, planting several varieties together is recommended.

The variety is used in international practice as a reference sample for describing the morphological traits of the species. Despite rare mentions in the context of hybridization, it is genetically classified as the pure species Castanea sativa.
