The variety is a local ecotype of folk selection. The fruits are distinguished by their large size, the outer shell has a nutty-pink color with reddish stripes, and the flesh is light, firm, and sweet in taste. It is used for fresh consumption and processing.

The variety shows signs of resistance to the chestnut gall wasp (Dryocosmus kuriphilus). Studies note lower oviposition rates of the pest, increased larval mortality, and less gall formation compared to susceptible varieties.
