Variety description

10 August 2026

ROSSELLA is a product of folk selection and is a synonym for the Italian variety Rossola. The fruits are characterized by a round shape and a reddish peel with light stripes, are easy to peel, and possess high taste qualities.

The plant possesses a certain resistance to the chestnut gall wasp, due to the dense and tough structure of the leaves, which hinders egg-laying by the pest. Historically, the variety is used for fresh consumption, processing into flour, and in traditional local cooking.
