The variety forms a voluminous leaf rosette 40–60 cm tall with dark green dentate leaves. A compact head of fleshy, pale green or whitish shoots forms in the center of the rosette. The growing period ranges from 80 to 150 days depending on the planting method.

The plant is characterized by cold resistance and hardiness. It prefers sunny areas with fertile, loose soil and moderate moisture. At high temperatures and with a lack of moisture, the variety is prone to early bolting. The recommended planting scheme is 25–30 cm within the row and 40–50 cm between rows.

The product is valued for the crispy texture of the shoots and the content of specific bitter substances. The variety is intended for fresh consumption in salads or after brief heat treatment.
