The variety forms an upright rosette of elongated, intensely green leaves with heavy serration. A distinctive feature is the pronounced white petioles. The plant does not form side shoots and reaches technical maturity approximately 80 days after sowing.

The plant is adapted to autumn sowing and harvesting during the cool period, maintaining viability for spring harvest after overwintering. The variety is a stable landrace, not a hybrid, and is intended for cultivation in open field as a leaf vegetable.

The produce is valued for its specific slightly bitter taste and is suitable for consumption fresh, boiled, or stewed. Both the leaf blade and the plant petioles are edible.
