The plant forms a voluminous, dense rosette-shaped head, resembling lettuce in shape. The leaves are broad, slightly wavy, ivory-colored with characteristic burgundy spots or streaks. The average weight of the head is about 300 g with a diameter of 15 cm or more.

The variety is intended for fresh consumption in salads, as well as for heat treatment. The taste is described as delicate and bittersweet. The plant is resistant to light frosts, while the maturity dates of the Lusia selection vary from 55 to 110 days after planting.
