The variety forms heads with broad rounded leaves and a short petiole. A characteristic morphological feature is the change in texture and color under the influence of cold: leaves become crisp and acquire a cream shade with wine-red spots.

The plant belongs to the mid-late variety group. It is used primarily in culinary applications, particularly in salads, and is highly valued for its aesthetically attractive appearance.
