The variety belongs to traditional Italian types. The period from germination to technical maturity varies from 75 to 120 days. The plant forms round heads, which can be either dense or loose. The leaf blade is light green with characteristic wine-red spots.
The plant possesses cold hardiness and is adapted for cultivation in cool climates; resistance to heat is also noted. The leaves have a crunchy texture and a slight bitterness characteristic of chicory.
The variety is intended for use as a salad crop. Cultivation is possible both in the open field during the summer period and in protected cultivation in autumn and winter.
