The variety is the result of a bud mutation of the 'Washington Navel' tree. The tree is characterized by vigorous growth, a semi-erect crown shape, and large leaves; thorns may be present on the most active shoots.
The fruits mature late and exhibit good resistance to splitting and creasing when left on the branches for extended periods. Fruit shape varies from round to elongated-oval; the peel is thin and smooth, bright orange in color, and the navel is usually closed.
The fruit flesh is juicy, with a good balance of sugar and acidity; seeds are practically absent.
