The variety is a natural bud mutation of the Sanguinello Moscato variety, which originated in Sicily. The tree has medium growth and a rounded crown, reaching about 200 cm in home conditions. Frost resistance is low; the plant withstands short-term temperature drops down to –5...–6 °C.

Fruits are rounded, weighing 170–210 g. The pulp is dark red or almost black due to high anthocyanin content, requiring temperature fluctuations for intensive coloration. The taste is sweet and sour, tart, with a berry undertone. The fruits are prone to rapid quality degradation after harvest.

The plant is demanding regarding nutrition and is susceptible to mite infestation. The variety is used both in industrial horticulture for juice production and cooking, and in ornamental indoor floriculture.
