The variety was discovered in South Africa, in the Gamtoos River valley. The fruits have a round shape, intense red color of the flesh and juice, and a pinkish hue of the albedo. In terms of maturity, the variety is late-ripening and matures approximately three weeks later than the Cara Cara variety.

Trees may have thorns at a young age, which decrease and become shorter as the plant matures. The variety is intended for commercial use as a table orange.
