Navel Late is a collective name for a number of late-maturing navel orange varieties, including Lane Late and Navelate. The trees are medium-sized with a compact, spherical, dense crown, often reaching 170 cm in height. Plants in this group are distinguished by good yield, and the Lane Late variety is characterized by fewer thorns on the shoots.

The fruits are round or slightly oval in shape, medium to large in size, weighing 200–320 g with a diameter of 7–9 cm. The rind is thin, smooth, bright orange in color, with a less prominent navel. The flesh is juicy, sweet, aromatic, virtually seedless, and has a low limonin content. The varieties ripen 4–6 weeks later than Washington Navel.
