The variety is an orange with pigmented fruits. Appearance is characterized by the presence of a distinct red blush on the rind and a dark red color of the flesh.
In some sources, the name NAVEL ROJA is used as a collective term for a group of pigmented navel oranges; however, in official patent documentation, this name is reserved exclusively for the Kirkwood Red variety.
