The variety is a natural mutation of the Palmer orange. The tree is characterized by more compact dimensions compared to other varieties in the Navel group and the presence of cordate leaf petioles. The variety shows a tendency toward alternate bearing when receiving very high yields.
The fruits are round or oval in shape, medium to large in size, and have a smooth or slightly rough orange peel with a closed navel. The flesh is deep orange, juicy, with soft fiber, and is seedless. The sugar content ranges from 10 to 14 degrees Brix.
The variety is late-ripening, with the harvest period occurring from July to September. It is distinguished by high keeping quality. It possesses resistance to Alternaria brown spot, however, it may be susceptible to Alternaria core rot depending on the fruit structure.
