The variety is the result of natural mutations that occurred during clonal propagation. Genetically, it differs from Eureka group varieties by a specific deletion in the 9th chromosome and a high degree of similarity to other lemon varieties while possessing traits of Citrus medica.

Fruits of this variety are described as very large lemons having an elongated olive-like shape. In scientific literature, the variety is considered primarily as an object for studying the phylogenetic origin and genetic diversity of the genus Citrus.
