The plant is an herbaceous perennial or semi-shrub, reaching a height of 60 to 100 cm. It forms a compact, erect bush with large, dark green ternate leaves with serrated margins.

The flowers, 3–6 cm in diameter, resemble a hyacinth in shape, have four recurved petals, and possess a sweet fragrance. Flowering occurs on current-year shoots from July to September.

The variety has high winter hardiness (USDA zones 4–8) and resistance to lodging. It belongs to pruning group 3: in early spring, the shoots are cut back to 10–20 cm above ground level. It is used in mixed borders, containers, and in plantings among other perennials.
