This clone is an adapted version of the historical variety Cosford. The variety is officially registered in Hungary and is actively used in scientific research related to the evaluation of varietal characteristics and phytopathological resistance.
A key feature of Cosford K.2 is its significant resistance to the pathogen Erysiphe corylacearum, which causes powdery mildew. Its infection index for this fungal disease is significantly lower than that of many other studied hazel samples.
