ActiveCorylus avellana L. · Common hazel
WEISSMANN (FR)
10 August 2026
The variety is a local landrace from the province of Genoa, which is not the result of modern scientific breeding. The trees are characterized by rapid growth and a bushy form, while remaining compact in size.
The fruits of the variety have a round shape, medium size, and medium weight. The nut shell is easy or medium to peel. The plant is distinguished by low pollen productivity and is sensitive to drought.
The variety is included in the traditional commercial “Misto Chiavari” blend, where it accounts for about 17% of the volume. Use of the fruits includes consumption in the shell, in shelled form, or as part of desserts such as brittle.

Green indicates countries where the variety is listed in the national catalogue and its seeds are authorized for sale. Expired registrations are marked separately: the variety was previously admitted, but sale is no longer permitted.
