Merveille de Bollwiller
ActiveCorylus avellana L. · Common hazel
WEISSMANN (FR)
10 August 2026
The variety is intended for industrial cultivation and nut production. In agronomic research, it is used as a pollinator for other hazelnut varieties and is also studied under various canopy training systems to optimize yield and kernel turnout.
The plant is susceptible to fungal diseases of the trunk, in particular those caused by the species Cytospora corylicola, Anthostoma decipiens, and Neofusicoccum parvum, which leads to dieback of branches. Susceptibility to infestation by the nut weevil (Curculio nucum) has also been noted.
