The plant is vigorous, upright, and reaches over one meter in height. Leaves are grey-green and dissected. Petioles are wide, thick, white in color, and have no spines.
The variety has good resistance to frost. Harvesting begins 5–6 months (from 180 days) after sowing. Due to the natural whitish hue of the petioles, the time required for the blanching procedure, performed by tying the leaves or covering the plants, is reduced.
