Variety description

The variety is a rosette-forming plant with a height from 25 to 40 cm (up to 60 cm in large aquariums). The leaves have a lanceolate or broadly lanceolate shape and are characterized by a "glassy" effect due to the contrast between the red-brown tissue of the blade and lighter veins.

The plant is used as a solitary specimen or for placement in the midground and background of aquariums. It prefers nutritious substrate and moderate or strong lighting, under which the coloration varies from bright ruby to dark green. Propagation is carried out via daughter plants on flower stalks.

The Echinodorus is sensitive to copper-containing preparations and may react negatively to abrupt changes in growing conditions by shedding leaves. The presence of carbon dioxide is not a mandatory requirement for growth, but it promotes acceleration.
