Twister is a trade name for a number of breeding forms of Echinodorus. The name was used within the breeding line of the Dennerle nursery to designate hybrid forms of aquarium plants.

The plant is not a direct synonym for the species Echinodorus cordifolius, known by the common name Creeping Burhead. Strict botanical descriptions for Twister as a separate taxon are absent, as this name is a commercial trademark, not a botanical name.
