The variety belongs to the subspecies Festuca rubra subsp. trichophylla. It is a hexaploid plant of late maturity.

The plant has a semi-erect or intermediate growth habit with leaves of a medium or dark green shade. The grass stand is characterized by a high degree of aesthetic appeal and good winter hardiness.
