PERKOULIA MYTILINIS is a local fig variety, widespread on the island of Lesbos, particularly in the Eresos area. In a number of publications, the variety is mentioned in the context of small-fruited fig varieties.

The fruits of the variety have a green color and medium size. Due to its characteristics, the variety is mainly used for the preparation of traditional fig syrup (vrasma/pekmez), serving as industrial raw material rather than a table variety for fresh consumption.

Growing conditions in the Eresos area allow this fig to be cultivated without the use of fertilizers and chemical methods of disease and pest control.
