Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety Petrelli is an ancient variety, widely distributed in the Apulia region. The plant has a spreading habit and large five-lobed leaves. The variety is characterized by high growth vigor, although there are mentions of the possibility of cultivation in a compact form.

The first wave fruits (breba) are large, weighing about 115 g, with greenish-yellow skin and a sweet taste with a honey aroma. The variety has low transportability. The crop is adapted to the Mediterranean climate, tolerates drought, saline soils, and exposure to sea air well.
