The Picholetera variety, also known as Pezón Largo, belongs to uniferous fig types, yielding one harvest per season from early August to mid-September. Breva figs are not formed. The tree is characterized as a traditional variety, maintained through vegetative propagation, common in the Extremadura region.

The fruits are of medium-small size and elongated shape. The skin is light green with a possible yellowish tint, the flesh is intensely red. The fruits are firm, flexible, with elastic skin, and possess a high sugar content. The primary purpose of the variety is the production of dried figs, although fruits that drop upon ripening require monitoring to prevent the appearance of mold.
