The plant is a deciduous shrub with stiff, upright shoots, reaching a height of up to 3 meters by 10 years of age. Foliage is green, flowers are simple, large, about 10 cm in diameter, of a violet-pink or lavender hue with a garnet-red center.

Flowering is abundant, occurring in July and August. The variety possesses winter hardiness down to -20°C (USDA zone 6) and good drought tolerance after establishment. Compared to the original selection, it is distinguished by more vigorous and uniform growth.

The plant is intended for ornamental gardening. It is used as a solitaire, in flower beds and compositions, in hedges, and can also be grown in containers.
