The variety was bred in Germany from wild American hops. It belongs to the group of aromatic varieties and is grown primarily in Germany.
The alpha-acid content in the cones is 2–7.5%, and beta-acids are 5.4–9.3%. The total oil content varies within 0.7–1.9 ml/100 g.
The aromatic profile of the variety includes distinct notes of raspberry, strawberry, cherry, and red currant, complemented by shades of lime, orange syrup, quince, and gooseberry. It is used for late and dry hopping in the brewing of various beer styles.
