The variety was discovered in Japan on the Izu Peninsula. The flower color varies from pink and pale blue to lavender and purple depending on the soil acidity level. The flowering period lasts from July to September, sometimes until October.
The plant is characterized by winter hardiness down to -25 °C. The variety prefers partial shade and moist, humus-rich, slightly acidic soils with a pH level from 4.5 to 6.5. It is used in landscape design for creating borders and decorating spaces, and is also suitable for container cultivation and floristry.
