Variety description

The shrub reaches a height of 1.0–1.6 m and possesses dark green glossy foliage. The inflorescences are flat, consisting of central fertile flowers and sparse sterile ones that have a star shape with double or triple petals on long pedicels.

Flowering lasts from July to September-October. The color of the flowers varies from blue and violet to pink. The plant prefers moist, humus-rich soils and partial shade sites. Frost resistance is rated down to -25 °C; in cold climates, protection of flower buds is required.
