The shrub is fast-growing, reaching a height of 1.2–1.7 m with a width of up to 1.5 m. Shoots are rigid, capable of holding large inflorescences vertically without lodging. Leaves are dark green, narrowly ovate, located on red petioles.
Inflorescences are narrowly conical, dense, up to 30 cm long, consisting of sterile and fertile flowers. Flowering continues from July to September, with the color of the inflorescences gradually changing from white to deep dark pink or cherry-red by the end of the season.
The plant belongs to USDA winter hardiness zone 4, is undemanding to soil type and urban conditions. Inflorescences are decorative in cut form and suitable for dried bouquets. Used in solitary and group plantings, hedges, and container cultivation.
