The compact shrub reaches a height and width of 1 to 1.5 meters. In spring, the foliage has a bright yellow hue, which changes to light green in summer, and may take on reddish or burgundy tones by the end of the season.
The inflorescences are of the "lacecap" type, consisting of small fertile flowers in the center and large sterile ones along the edge. The flowers bloom white, eventually acquiring blue or pink shades depending on the soil pH level.
The variety belongs to USDA hardiness zones 5–9. It is used as a specimen plant, to create color accents in mixed borders, in group plantings, or for cultivation in containers.
