The variety forms globe-shaped inflorescences, which distinguishes it from other members of the species with classic lacecap inflorescences. The plant possesses beautiful fading inflorescences.

Like other Hydrangea serrata varieties, this shrub is compact and features smaller leaves and flowers compared to Hydrangea macrophylla. The crop prefers moist, fertile, well-drained soils with an acidic or near-neutral reaction.
