The variety is a compact shrub 50–100 cm in height with prolonged flowering from June to October. Inflorescences are flat, consisting of central fertile flowers and marginal sterile ones; their color changes from pink to blue depending on soil acidity.
The foliage is highly ornamental: in spring, young leaves have a purple hue, in summer they are green, and in autumn they acquire purple or burgundy tones. The plant is demanding regarding soil drainage and is sensitive to waterlogging; winter hardiness corresponds to a temperate climate.
