The plant is low-growing, densely branched, reaching a height of 0.5–0.6 m with a width of up to 1.2 m. It has oval leaf blades with incised margins and is capable of forming root suckers. The shoots are green.
The inflorescences are flat, corymbose, and are located above the foliage. Sterile flowers have sepals with a pink or blue hue, depending on soil pH. Flowering occurs from June to September.
The variety possesses winter hardiness and is used in landscape design as a groundcover plant, suitable for small compositions.
