The variety is an elegant shrub with flat lacecap-type inflorescences. They are abundantly covered with numerous sterile florets, creating a starburst effect on the plant. The color of the florets varies from white-pink to lilac or pale blue and depends on the soil pH level.
The plant is adapted to mountain forest conditions with a short growing season and possesses good winter hardiness, exceeding that of Hydrangea macrophylla. It is used exclusively as an ornamental garden crop.
