The Sandra variety (breeding name Sidasand) is a compact shrub about 1 meter high with broadly oval leaves. The plant belongs to the Dutch Ladies series and is characterized by a slow growth rate.
The inflorescences are of the lacecap type with fertile white flowers in the center and sterile white flowers with a purple or reddish-pink margin on the edges. The variety reacts weakly to changes in soil pH and is difficult to turn blue.
The plant prefers partial shade and requires protection during the winter period. During cultivation, the variety is susceptible to diseases typical for the species, including powdery mildew, gray mold, and leaf spot, as well as pest infestations.
