Variety description

The variety is an evergreen shrub with strong vigorous growth. The leaves are glossy, have a reddish-purple tint in spring, then become blue-green, and acquire an eggplant-blue color in the autumn-winter period, which persists until April.
The plant is a male variety and does not produce fruit, serving as a pollinator for female Ilex x meserveae varieties. The shrub is characterized by high winter hardiness down to -25°C and good tolerance to regular pruning, which allows it to be used for creating hedges.
