The plant has a dense bushy shape and reaches a mature height of 1.5 to 3 meters. The foliage is dark green, glossy, with characteristic serrated edges that may slightly curl.

Flowering occurs in April–May with small white flowers. The variety is female, frost-resistant (USDA zone 5) and adapted to urban conditions. It tolerates pruning well and is used in landscape design to create hedges and mass plantings.

To produce fruit, the presence of a male pollinator plant is required, for example, the China Boy variety. The shrub may be susceptible to leaf miners, spider mites, whiteflies, leaf spot, powdery mildew, and chlorosis.
