The fruits ripen in October, are medium to large in size, and have a round, slightly flattened shape. The skin is greenish with a pattern of thin red stripes; the flesh is white and juicy. The flavor is classified as bittersweet.

The tree has moderate vigor and a conical crown shape. The variety is susceptible to scab. The fruits are not intended for long-term storage, although they can be kept for 2–3 weeks after harvest to improve their qualities.

The variety is widely cultivated in Normandy and Brittany. Its main purpose is industrial and private cider production, both as a single-varietal and in blends, as well as the production of Calvados.
