The variety is a chance seedling discovered in the Netherlands. Trees are vigorous, forming a wide spreading crown. The variety is triploid, therefore requiring other pollinator varieties to set a crop. It enters bearing at 4–5 years, possesses good winter hardiness, but is prone to alternate bearing.

Fruits are large, with a mass of 200–260 g, round or slightly flattened in shape. The skin is often rough, with characteristic russeting; the ground color is green or yellow with a diffused blush. Flesh is firm, juicy, with a high acid content. A winter variety, fruits are suitable for consumption from November to April.
