The variety has a winter ripening period: harvest maturity of the fruits occurs in October, consumer maturity from December. Under cold storage conditions, the apples keep until June. Trees are prone to a drooping growth habit with bare branches and biennial bearing.

The fruits are large, have yellow-green skin with a possible reddish blush and dark spots. The taste is aromatic, with a pronounced acidity; the flesh is rich in acids and polyphenols. The variety is partially self-fertile and prefers fertile, moist soils.

The variety is characterized by low susceptibility to apple scab, but is prone to fruit tree canker. Young shoots are sensitive to low temperatures after a heavy crop. The fruits have a universal purpose, including use for cider production.
