The tree is vigorous, forming a large, high-vaulted and spreading crown. The variety is a chance seedling; it enters into fruiting late, with average yield showing pronounced periodicity. It requires pollinator varieties as it is a poor pollen donor.

Fruits are medium to large in size, broadly rounded, with characteristic ribbing. The skin is smooth, yellow upon ripening, sometimes with a red blush or stripes. The flesh is tender, juicy, with a wine-sweet aroma. Fruits are prone to premature dropping, sensitive to damage, and poorly tolerate transport.

The variety is demanding regarding soil and air humidity. It is characterized by susceptibility to scab and powdery mildew. The harvest period falls between late August and mid-September; consumer maturity is reached by November.
