The variety is a mutation (clone) of the well-known Royal Gala variety. The main distinguishing characteristic lies in the intensity of the fruit surface coloration.

The variety is intended for commercial cultivation on M-9 rootstock. Advantages include lower susceptibility of fruits to cracking and a longer harvest period compared to the parent variety.
